What does this site do with my data?
The short answer
Almost nothing. No analytics, no adverts, no tracking cookies.
The savings calculator works entirely inside your own browser: your postcode is never sent to us or to anyone else. If you email us, we keep the email.
Who is responsible
This site is published by Plug & Play Solar Kits, an independent publisher operating from the Isle of Man. We are the data controller for the small amount of personal data described below.

Cookies
This site sets no cookies for visitors. There is no analytics, no advertising network, no social media tracking and no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
One thing is stored in your own browser, and only if you ask for it. If you press “Pause animation”, we save a single setting called ppsk-motion-paused in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers your preference next time. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser data removes it.
The savings calculator
The calculator asks for your postcode, and this is worth being clear about: your postcode is never transmitted anywhere. The sunshine and network operator data is downloaded to your browser as an ordinary file, and the whole calculation happens on your device. We never see what you typed, and neither does anyone else.
Nothing you enter is stored, either on your device or on our server.
Server logs
Like every website, ours runs on a web server that keeps automatic access logs. These record the internet address (IP address) of visiting devices, the pages requested, the time, and the browser identifier. They are generated by the hosting provider, used for security and for diagnosing faults, and are not used to build any profile of you or combined with anything else.
Our administration area also records the internet addresses of failed login attempts, as a protection against people trying to break in.
Our lawful basis for both is legitimate interests: keeping the site available and secure.
If you email us
We keep your message and your email address so that we can reply and, where you have pointed out a mistake, so that we have a record of why a page was changed. We do not add you to any mailing list and we do not pass your details to anyone. Tell us if you would like your correspondence deleted and we will delete it.
Who else is involved
- Hosting and email: Hostinger, who provide the web server and the mailboxes, and who therefore process the server logs and any email you send us.
- Nothing else. There is no content delivery network loading fonts or code from elsewhere: the typefaces, the animation library and the 3D library are all served from this site, so your browser does not contact any third party while you read it.
We do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone.
Links to other sites
We link out to legislation, official guidance and the ENA register. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we have no control over them. If we add links that earn us commission in future, they will be labelled, and this policy will be updated before they go live.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how we use it, and to receive a copy. Given how little we hold, the answer for most visitors is that we hold nothing at all.

If we add analytics, an email newsletter, a contact form or affiliate links, we will update this page first, and say so. The date this page was last updated is shown at the top.
